Shenger G400

ø10mm Dynamic Driver

$5~$10
1.5/5.0

The unknown brand Shenger offers quite a few products with overused designs, but surprisingly, those are not toys at all. The G400 actually sounds great for many kinds of electronic music. The bass is intense and deep, while the mids and highs are laid-back. True bass-head earphones, but you should consider amplifying them a bit, because they aren't so loud, and don't sound too good, on low-power sources.

As compared to G360, these sounds just about the same. Most likely, they both have exactly the same drivers. The only thing I noticed is the G400 having slightly less mid-bass bloat than G360.

Pros

  • A massive low bass response, especially when amplified, which makes a perfect listening experience for EDM.
  • A pretty solid build quality, if you can forgive the flat cable.

Cons

  • You will have to use an amplified source to hear what the earphones can actually do, especially in terms of bass intensity.
  • The mids and highs were sacrificed too much for that amazing bass response.
  • A flat cable is always a bad idea. They are usually less durable than normal cables.
  • No left/right channel indicators on the housings.

Comfort & Fit

I could barely get a good seal with the included tips because they are so soft. ROCK Zircon's tips fixed that.

Lows / Bass

Very good bass quality and volume. It goes very deep and you can feel the sub-bass vibrating in your ears. A true bass-head material.

Mids / Vocals

The vocals are laid-back and dark, which is typical for bassy earphones, but these sacrificed the mids too much. Female vocals are especially dark. On low-power sources they're overpowered further by mid-bass.

Highs / Treble

The highs are gentle and laid-back with a proportion to the mids. On low-power sources they're overpowered further by mid-bass.
